IC Card [Travel Cards]



IC Cards can be purchased from train stations and bus stations .They can be used to ride JR Lines an private railways in the are they are purchased for . They are regional dependanct so you may end up accumulating quite a collection.
They can topped up at train and bus stations and convience stores and most have apps availbale to calulate the available funds They can also be used to purchase items at stores , I have only used them in the station to purchase train supplies. If you have a JR pass that will cover all JR lines where your pass is applicable to. You will need the IC ard for the NON JR lines

This only covers PrePaid cards, there are other rules for Postpaid cards(not covered)
